It was decided a little over a year ago that we would retire and give up our business.
The COVID experience and turning 60 made us realize the possibility that life could be shorter than we thought. So we sold the business and turned our sights to a long standing dream of ours….cruising.
We had cruised the northeast United Sates for 30 years and were in love with places like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Newport, Block Island, and Montauk. Therefore, the most natural place to start forming our post-retirement cruising adventure was to sail south along the east coast of the United States.
We have planned extensively, spoken to friends and South Bay Cruising Club members that have done this trip in the past, and now we think we’re ready…..me, Claudio and our two cats.
So wish us luck and, by all means, offer your experiences if you’ve ever done this trip…we welcome any suggestions.

Poco più di un anno fa è stato deciso che saremmo andati in pensione e avremmo venduto la nostra attività.

Avevamo navigato nel nord-est degli Stati Uniti per 30 anni ed eravamo innamorati di posti come Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Newport, Block Island e Montauk. Pertanto, il luogo più naturale per iniziare a formare la nostra avventura crocieristica post-pensionamento è stato quello di navigare verso sud, lungo la costa est degli Stati Uniti.
Abbiamo pianificato ampiamente, parlato con amici e membri del South Bay Cruising Club che hanno fatto questo viaggio in passato, e ora pensiamo di essere pronti ….. io, Claudio e i nostri due gatti.
