The prickly pear is the native fruit of Sicily and grows wild everywhere. So sweet!

It’s now 6:30 pm and we picked up the anchor and are headed to see the Stromboli at night, when eruptions are visible.
We swing around Strombolicchio lighthouse. We notice something peculiar.

We notice a railing at the bottom of the rock

And then we saw the stairs that lead up to the lighthouse! I can’t even begin to gues how many steps you’d have to climb to get to the top of the lighthouse!

The rock formations at the lighthouse remind me of mythological creatures!

On our way to the volcano, the evening becomes darker, and a half-moon begins to rise over the crater



And then we started seeing the eruptions!
While I was amazed to experience my first eruptions, luckily for me (and everyone else) this volcano is not ready to REALLY BLOW!!!!
As I was filming the various eruptions, I noticed….
