Nantucket to Hyannis
Saying goodbye to Nantucket.

The waters that day were exceptionally calm and the weather was beautiful…a real gift!

Hyannis Port is the place famous for the location of the Kennedy compound. The Kennedy clan enjoyed many summers at this site. The main house (Joe and Rosa Kennedy) is a waterfront property. The Robert and Joan Kennedy home, and the John and Jackie Kennedy home are not water front but directly across from the main house. None of the homes are visible by water.
Hyannis is also well known for being a transportation hub for Cape Cod and surrounding islands, both by airplane and by ferry. After Provincetown, Hyannis has the largest commercial fishing port on Cape Cod.

There was not much time to organize a proper visit to Hyannis so we were a little disappointed at the Main Street area that we visited.
But dinner at the port restaurant was very nice….we even saw a seal peak it’s head out of the water and look straight at us inquisitively! He was too cute! The waitress later told us that a pair of seals live permanently in the harbor….Neal and Lucille! LOL

It was a lovely stay.
