Power versus Sail….Classic versus Modern. What a marvelous juxtaposition!
Did you know that the cobblestone roads at the wharf all come from England? Empty cargo ships left England filled with stones, typically river stones, which provided stability during the transatlantic voyage. Upon arrival, the stones were unloaded and used to pave the dirt roads. I didn’t know that!
