Leaving Edgartown and heading towards Nantucket on a spectacularly beautiful day!

The weather was favorable and the day was full of sunshine, accompanied by a fairly strong breeze. This made the sail from Edgartown to Nantucket exceptionally beautiful.

The approach to the Nantucket breakwaters is always a little unsettling. There are walls of rocks on either side of the inlet, the wind is always fierce here, the channel is tight, and there are large ferries either coming in or going out. There is not much room to maneuver.

Once inside the harbor, the beauty of the Brant Point Lighthouse is both easy on the eyes and reassuring.

Nantucket is a stunning sailing destination! Once you arrive, the charm of the island and landmarks like the Brant Point Lighthouse make it all worthwhile. It’s no wonder it’s my favorite place to sail to!
