On our way to Beaufort, S. Carolina. It was an overcast day and a little cool. I guess Claudio was cold!

Andiamo verso Beaufort, S. Carolina. Era una giornata nuvolosa e un po’ fresca. Claudio evidentamente sentiva freddo!

We passed a pelican that decided to take a rest on G”19″

Abbiamo incontrato un pellicano che stava riposando sulla boa G”19″

We arrived at Beaufort approximately at 4:30 pm and took a mooring ball. Claudio lowered the dinghy and we took off for the town.

Siamo arrivati a Beaufort verso le 16:30 e abbiamo preso un ormeggio. Claudio ha calato il gommone e siamo partiti per il paese.

But Beaufort has some beautiful trees that bend and turn into living sculptures. These natural sculptures then develop hanging moss on them, and they look almost magical!

Ma Beaufort ha tante varieta` di alberi bellissimi che si piegano e si trasformano in sculture viventi. Queste sculture naturali sviluppano poi un particolare muschio sospeso su di esse e sembrano quasi magiche!

The Magnolia tree is one of my favorites…especially when it is in full bloom!

L’albero di Magnolia è uno dei miei preferiti…soprattutto quando è in piena fioritura!

What I enjoy the most about Beaufort is how quaint and peaceful it seems to be.

Quello che mi piace di più di Beaufort è quanto sembra essere pittoresco e pacifico.

This goose was found on the side of the street one day, hit by a car and crippled. Her friend toof her to the veterinarian and got her help. She can no longer walk on one leg but the woman that found her keeps her at the house, keeps her healthy and well fed, and even takes her out for a stroll down Main Street every so often. To that woman, Thank you for being a friend to the animals!

Questa oca è stata trovata un giorno sul ciglio della strada, investita da un’auto e paralizzata. La sua amica l’ha portata subito dal veterinario. Non può più camminare su una gamba sola, ma la donna che l’ha trovata la tiene a casa, la mantiene sana e ben nutrita, e ogni tanto la porta anche a fare una passeggiata in paese. A quella donna, grazie per essere un amico degli animali!

We stopped at a pizzeria that makes thin crust pizzas. The staff is very friendly, and the pizzas are pretty good …. which is not a given on the east coast of the United States! We highly recommend the Hearth Wood Fired Pizzeria.

Ci siamo fermati a una pizzeria che fa le pizze con crusta fina. Sono bravini e le pizze sono buone….cosa che non e` scontato sulla costa est degli stati uniti!
