This morning I woke up and, while having the first coffee of the day, I noticed we were docked across for The Happy Little House Under the Bridge!

Questa mattina mi sono svegliato e, mentre prendevo il primo caffè della giornata, ho notato dall’altra sponda del fiume una Piccola Casetta Sorridente sotto al Ponte!

Today we went exploring Oriental, North Carolina

Oggi siamo andati a visitare il paesino marittimo di Oriental, Nord Carolina

Il Comune di Oriental.

The homes in Oriental and along most of the N. Carolina coast are raised at least 10′ off the ground on stilts or pilings.

Le case sia in Oriental che lungo la maggior parte della costa di Nord Carolina sono sollevate di almeno 3 metri da terra su grossi pali che ricordano le palafitte.

Not many homes are decorated for Halloween, but those that did decorate their front yards are very interesting….and unique!.

Non ho visto molte case decorate per Halloween, ma quelle che hanno decorato i loro giardini sono molto interessanti…. e unici!.

And as we walked down Main Street, I was invited to step inside the Nautical Wheelers store. The entire Victorian style home, all 3 floors, ws filled with gifts and memorabilia.

E mentre camminavamo lungo la Main Street, sono stata invitata a entrare nel negozio Nautical Wheelers. L’intera casa in stile vittoriano, tutti i 3 piani, erano pieni di regali e cimeli.

At the back of the Victorian, an event was being held that I can relate to only too well. Even if I’m not getting involved, they seem to always find me!

Nel giardino della casa vittoriana, si stava svolgendo un evento a cui posso relazionarmi fin troppo bene. Anche se non li cerco io, sembrano trovarmi loro!

In the evening, we went to the Halloween party held at the Tiki Bar of the Oriental Marina & Inn. Check out these great costumes!

In serata, siamo andati alla festa di Halloween che si svolgeva al Tiki Bar dell’Oriental Marina & Inn. Dai un’occhiata a questi fantastici costumi!

In Oriental everyone knows each other. We were sitting alone watching the costumes go by and a few people came to our table to introduce themselves and find out about us. Even the mayor of Oriental stopped by to say hi!

In Oriental tutti si conoscono. Eravamo seduti da soli a guardare i costumi che passavano e alcune persone sono venute al nostro tavolo per presentarsi e scoprire qualcosa di noi. Anche il sindaco di Oriental si è fermata a salutare!

In the end, we found out that Morticia is originally from Sayville…and Lerch is from Oakdale and worked at the Snapper Inn for six years! What a small world.

Alla fine, abbiamo scoperto che un gruppo di persone vestite a Halloween sono originarie di New York e precisamente Long Island!!
