We crossed the Neuse River for about 8 miles and arrived at Oriental, North Carolina.

Abbiamo attraversato il fiume Neuse per circa 8 miglia e siamo arrivati a Oriental, nella Carolina del Nord.

The northerlies were still blowing at 20/25 knots and the stepped waves made the crossing uncomfortable. The decision was made to take a slip at the Oriental Marina & Inn.

I venti dal nord soffiavano ancora a 20/25 nodi e le onde, con periodi molto brevi tra le creste, rendevano scomoda la traversata. È stata presa la decisione di prendere rifugio nel Oriental Marina & Inn.

Nero wasn’t happy either!

The inner harbor was full, so the harbormaster placed Floriana on the face dock.

Il posto barca assegnatoci era davanti un ponte e non abbastanza protetta dai venti da nord.

Oriental Marina & Inn is a lovely complex that welcomes transients, long term renters and commercial fishing boats.

Oriental Marina & Inn è un porto che accoglie sia una flotta di pescherecci che i viaggiatori come noi che fanno la migrazione da nord a sud.

We’re staying through Saturday because we heard there will be a Witch’s Crawl in town and a Halloween Party at the Inn. If I show up looking how I wake up at anchor, I’m sure to win first prize for best costume! LOL

Decidiamo di restare fino a Sabato per assistere ad una festa paesana per il Halloween organizzata dal marina.
