Our crossing of the Albermarle Sound was uneventful and we actually were able to sail down to the Alligator River/Pungo Canal due to the northerlies that were still prevalent.
La nostra traversata dell’Albermarle Sound è stata raoida e piacevole con tutte le vele spiegate fino al fiume Alligator / Pungo Canal.
The interesting thing about the Pungo Canal crossing is that the landscape is similar to what (I imagine) prehistoric man must have seen while roaming this area! We were told to be aware of bears fishing along the banks and alligators swimming up to greet the boat.
La cosa interessante del Pungo Canal è che, nel mio immaginario, presenta un paesaggio simile a quello che avrebbe potuto vedere l’uomo preistorico! Ci è stato detto di essere consapevoli degli orsi che pescano lungo le rive e degli alligatori che frequentemente vengono mavvistati da queste parti..
