Floriana

The crew of Floriana has decided that Atlantic City is a fun town whether you access it by car or by boat….but only for a night!
The next morning we left our dock at 9:30 in the morning, after a leisurely breakfast at the casino. We were in no hurry to sail off because we were timing the current. We waited for the outgoing tide and made our way to Cape May.

The ocean was again calm, and the weather was beautiful. At a hull speed of 6.5 knots, we traveled six hours to Cape May Inlet. This inlet was very well marked and easy to negotiate. Compared to Fire Island Inlet, this was a sailor’s dream come true!

L’equipaggio di Floriana ha deciso che Atlantic City è una città divertente sia che ci si acceda in auto o in barca… ma solo per una breve stazionamento!

La mattina successiva abbiamo lasciato il nostro molo alle 9:30 del mattino, dopo una piacevole colazione al casinò. Non avevamo fretta di salpare perché stavamo cronometrando la corrente. Abbiamo aspettato la corrente di marea in uscita e ci siamo diretti verso Cape May.

L’oceano era di nuovo calmo e il tempo era soleggiato e bellissimo. A una velocità dello scafo di 6,5 nodi, abbiamo viaggiato per sei ore fino al pass di Cape May Inlet. Questa entrata era molto ben segnalata e facile da attraversare. Comparato al pass di Fire Island Inlet, questa entrata da mare e il sogno di ogni marinaio!
